    There I was 10.25pm (after a glass or two), watching Points West (BBC local news) about the refurbishment of the Ironage White Horse at Westbury, Wiltshire, when up comes a picture of our Tim Carson. He was being interviewed about the said refurbishment.

    For the background to the news article - I will explain. The White Horse national monument carved into the hillside in Wiltshire had become increasingly degraded and less than 'white'.
    The solution was to air lift bags of matching white chalk scalpings by helicopter, to place them onto the monument.
    Up to that moment in the news item I had only been taking a 'sort of' interest in it, so I was unprepared for the spectre, (remember I had had a glass or two), of Tim Carson appearing on my screen.

    It came over in the interview that he has farmed the area for years (if not generations) and he was asked how he felt about the restoration of the monument.

    For full details of what he said and the bits that may well have been cut out of his full interview, contact him on 01672 851413 or 07831 379057 or of course by email tim.carson@farmline.com

    Alternatively - Tim may be persuaded to write an article for ROT giving us the lowdown on;
    a) The BBC interview and
    b) The history and his place in it of the Westbury White Horse - how about it Tim?
