Underneath is the news reported earlier, but now we have some very good news to convey and that is that Tony has been taken off the life support apparatus and I'm told,is sitting up in bed. THIS IS EXCELLENT NEWS and our wish is that this can be followed up shortly with even better news. We will keep you posted. I understand that Yvonne may take telephone calls now that the situation appears to be less critical.

We have just heard that Tony was admitted to hospital and is still in the Intensive Care Unit having survived an aneurysm of the aorta.
This is an incredibly serious condition and will be of huge concern to the family, so we think it would be prudent not to telephone Yvonne or other members of the family at this time. Our information is that he was taken to hospital on Monday Oct 5th.
Meanwhile I am sure we are all thinking of Tony and his family and hope to hear some good news shortly.
As more information comes to hand we will pass it on if we are given the permission of the family to do so.

Some very good news about Tony.
I am delighted to say that he came out of hospital on Monday 19th.
He actually anwered the 'phone when I rang just now (5pm)and sounded just the same as ever!
He tells me that it is expected that he will take between 3 to 6 months to fully recover, and get this, a month before he can drive again!!
He is getting about the house under his own steam, so he's up and running already.
He received the get well card we sent but could't read your signature Brian, (The President signs Get Well cards on behalf of the committee)
The family are taking calls on 01225 874116 and Yvonne is keeping a diary of callers and fielding some of them so as not to overload Tony who may be resting etc.
Tony said he thought someone must have been looking after him as he had only a 20% chance of survival and he was cheered up immensly to know that so many members were thinking of him and rooting for him.
    Great stuff Tony!!
